Throughout the year the team at Noah's Ark Trust organise many events to raise funds for the benefit of the charity. This can be anything from coffee mornings, charity sales and auctions to the large organised events like last September’s, 'Run To Remember' where 517 runners raised over L14,000 through sponsorship in a Family Fun Run, a 5km and a 10km sponsored run.
We always need people to help with these events, encouraging members of the local community to become involved. If you have good organisational skills or feel you are able to motivate others to run a marathon or hold an event or carry out some other activity for the benefit of Noah's Ark Trust then this area may be for you. You will be encouraged to join in with the existing fundraising team on events already planned as well as planning your own fund raising activities.
The deadline for Volunteer application forms is 26th February 2010.
All ideas are considered [ see A - Z of Fundraising ].
Although some grieving families do need the support of a professional Bereavement Services Co-ordinator or other professional, others do not. Here at Noah's Ark Trust we also offer assistance from ' lay ' supporters in recognition of the fact that bereavement can happen to any of us and that members of the community can be there for one another.
You will work alongside the full - time Bereavement Services Co-ordinator offering support to children, young people and their families in difficult and challenging situations and this role calls for people with exceptional caring qualities, the ability to listen and remain calm in what can be distressing situations offering support where needed.
Throughout the year, Noah's Ark Trust hold several residential weekends at the Malvern Hills Outdoor Centre where children, young people and their families come together to share experiences and take part in a wide range of physical activities. This is an intense two days of getting together with the aim of showing the children that it is okay to have fun and look to the future. The weekends are always fully occupied by both children and their families and are very positive events.
We need people who can assist on these weekends across a wide range of activities and if you are interested please contact us. This is an opportunity for dynamic and committed people to join in making these weekends the success they have proved to be. For further information or to find out the next dates for our training courses please contact info@noahsarktrust.co.uk or call 01905 745735.
The Offices are based in central Worcester and are the centre of all administration activities for the Charity. We always welcome for another pair of hands, for such duties as posting out large mail shots, filing and data entry. If you feel you have good office based skills and can help please contact us. Some basic computer keyboard skills would be an advantage but not essential.
Noah's Ark Trust needs to ensure that the support we offer to children, young people and their families is of the highest quality and that our service can be trusted to be professional and reliable. All volunteers working in the area of bereavement will therefore be required to attend an interview as well as undergoing necessary training to prepare them for the role they take on.
We do hope that you will give serious consideration to becoming a volunteer with Noah's Ark Trust. We offer you an opportunity to provide a vital service to the local community. You will receive support, training and supervision to help you in your role, contributing to the overall delivery of this essential service in Herefordshire & Worcestershire.
As part of our Safeguarding Children policy, you will be asked to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau application.
